Hey. Gosh, what have I been doing?

All lots of stuff.

I’ve been working on music a lot.

A whole lot lately. And crazy adventures with the kids. And I just haven’t felt like making A post or posts. Or anything, because

You know I just found myself talking about the same crap over and over and over like chicks from work.

Driving me nuts, they all. Do they still do? Yeah, all of them. There’s like a dozen where I work. That I just, you know,

And I don’t talk to any of them though, that’s like,

I don’t know what else to say. Haha about that. Yeah. And then um, what else

Oh,

I did a bunch of work for 1 of my roommates and Didn’t get paid a fraction of what?

I should have for it. I’m kind of been like

Disappointed, I don’t know how to go off on that, though right now because I’m in the house. And I don’t want anyone to hear me.

There’s actually a lot I could say about a lot of stuff. About my roommates, but whatever. Yeah I’ll probably I might make a post later. I haven’t when’s the last time I posted? Thanksgiving I think so.

But I’ve been doing, um,

Yeah, a lot of uh, my friend Peter Came over yesterday and played bass. I’m going to try to get some kind of music project going.

I’ve known Peter for

15. Ah, almost 20 years I guess. Yeah, I was just thinking like

I think the Myspace days. Yeah.

And um,

I gotta get some new strings for my nylon string guitar. I have worn the fucking shit out of the D string. And it sounds like crap.

But they’re Factory strings. This is my first nylon string guitar ever.

Um, I don’t know. That’s what I’ve been working on the most. My voice is finally getting back.

To where it ought to be. I’m on night shift this week. I work this week and next week and then it’s the Christmas. The winter shutdown I’ll be off for a week and a half.

I’m going to get out and play some Open Mic nights.

There’s uh there’s this place in Tuscaloosa. I’m going to check out and it’s totally motivated by this chick that. I’ve been friends with for like 20 years on social media but I’ve never met her in person.

Maybe she’ll be there. I’m going to tell her. When I’m going, but I’ve got to sort that out next week. I’ve got to take my daughter to a concert in Atlanta. I got a hotel room booked and everything. It’s It’s going to be, um,

A lot of fun. It’s this like folk punk band or something called June Henry. At a coffee shop.

And uh, there’s some other bands playing but that’s the band she wants to see.

Um, but I’ve just been working like a whole bunch last week. Wore me out. Really tired. I’m always tired. I make myself go with coffee. With caffeine. Mostly, I don’t really have anything else.

I probably ought to go back to sleep for like a couple of hours, but I don’t want to either, I want to practice guitar, some more, I need to get out and get some new strings. And get some food. I’m running low on money. I’ve got to take my daughter to the concert, I’ve already paid for like a lot of stuff. Like the tickets and the hotel room, they weren’t they were 15 dollars. Yeah. Um,

But I had to get 3 tickets, and then food and all that I’ve got.

I don’t know. I’m just thinking, like I get paid next week, though, and that’s going to be the Check. That gets me through my oh, the winter shutdown. And then I get paid again on probably the day before New Year’s Eve. Which is awesome.

But yeah, I’m cutting it pretty close. I’m going to probably. Like take food to eat like, like sandwich stuff or something.

Going to get by pretty cheap next weekend. This weekend I guess. I don’t know. It’s Monday, right?

I don’t know.

But uh, Peter is a really talented musician. And he records stuff too. His stuff sounds way better than my stuff though. He’s a A really good bass player. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, like I am.

Um but he also any writes his own songs. For me it’s all a means to an end to make up the songs. Like the songwriting for me comes first, you can’t do. Well, you can do a lot with just playing ability. But, you know, for me, it’s about making good songs that are funny and entertaining, I guess is a better word for it.

I like fun music. I like to make and play fun music. And then, there was a Few songs that I forgot that I had that we could have done in like feeling the meat.

That’s 1 of my favorite ones, I’m going to probably record that 1 and send it to him. Just me playing it on acoustic, you know I’m not like

But I totally forgot about it yesterday. I was like, I was so excited. We did the Brittany song. Uh we did a fast version of it which is the version. I like the best and then a slow version.

So he could learn the Bassline because it’s pretty fast. The fast version. I don’t know. I’ve got about 4 different versions of that song. There’s the banjo version then there’s the C Standard Version. And uh the fast acoustic standard tuned version and the slow. Acoustic standard tuned version. Yeah well I guess there’s 1 more too, there’s the electrified guitar version which is uh

I realized after I recorded a version and sent it to him, just me playing it, you know, on guitar acoustic and singing. It that it’s only not even like a minute and a half long.

And uh, that’s funny actually.

I transposed crazy woman. Um, Up a half step to be able to play it in standard tuning and it actually sounds better. Than it does.

Uh, I don’t know. I just kind of converted everything to standard except when we were frogs. And pieces of Bob.

I can’t that doesn’t work in standard tuning.

Sadly.

But uh, maybe that’s something that’ll get I’ve got to get a pick up. Gosh, see, I guess there is a lot to say. Um, I have to get a pickup for my nylon string, guitar, and I, I suspected this. At the time, I bought the pickup. Uh, when I bought the guitar, I got a I got a pickup for it. And,

Like an acoustic, you know, like insert in the hole pickup and the guy who worked there I was like, uh, you know, do you recommend any kind of pickup for this? It’s a nylon string guitar and he was like this 1 And it was just a regular, you know, uh,

Jesus Christ. I can’t think of the fucking name of it so I don’t know why.

I traded a lot of, like, My mental like my brain capacity for creativity. It’s it’s actually kind of funny. Hold on, I’m going to have to look.

I bought the thing. I should know. What it is, right?

I’m going to feel so dumb when I look at it.

But anyways, it’s um.

You need um it’s the wrong kind. You only works with fucking steel string guitars.

And, uh, I got it all everything out Saturday night and I was like, yeah, I’m going to rock this thing, you know, because I haven’t used it yet. I’ve had this guitar for over a month. And uh, I’ll put the pickup in it and plugged everything up to my powered speaker and to my processor.

And of course, it doesn’t work and it’s like, oh yeah, well why did this guy sell me this thing? I mean, he works at a music store. Is just he didn’t know, is what it really was and I didn’t really think about it. A lot, of course, you know, I need a pickup that actually, you know, picks up the vibrations, you can’t have 1. You know, a magnetic pickup that picks up the vibrations of the nylon strings. You know how pickups work and I just wasn’t thinking and Because when I bought it, I was about to go to the French club meeting and I was in a hurry and I was excited and Being stupid, but it works for my other acoustic and that’s good enough.

And I’ve been playing this nylon string guitar like non-stop for the last month.

Has it been a month? Hold on. 1. Did I buy this fucking thing? I guess it’s been like 3 weeks.

Yeah. And uh the the neck is is fat, it’s a big wide fat neck, you know, because it’s a classical guitar. And trying to go back and play like my regular guitars. They are like little baby guitars, the necks. It’s really funny.

But uh, so I’ve got to get a pickup for my nylon string guitar. I can’t get out and play, Open Mic nights until I get a pickup and that’s going to have to wait till I get paid next week.

Um, I found a good 1, though, for like, a hundred bucks. I want a really good 1.

I don’t know, there’s a decent ones for half that I paid.

Anyways, I just looked a video up for it. I was like huh? Cuz this pickup I guess that’s what I’m going to buy next week when I get paid. Like that’s the first thing I’m going to do. But um anyways I just figured I don’t know what I was thinking and like something there was a part like intuitively. I was like, this probably wasn’t going to work. But like He works there. You know, he works at the Guitar Center, I figured he knew like maybe he knew something I didn’t so

Like I said, I traded a lot of my brain capacity like with gear and how things work and stuff for creativity. It’s actually kind of funny sometimes because I used to, like, know, stuff and the things I used to know. I have forgotten.

Oh my big thing with that is languages. Yeah. Like I can’t believe how much like Swedish And fucking uh, just like French and

Language in Latin things. I spent years just studying my ass off.

Oh, I’ve forgotten practically everything.

Yeah. I’ve still retained, uh,

An okay amount of Spanish but really that’s just kind of

I’m not. I can make up songs in it, you know. But I’m not. I can read it still pretty well. But as far as using it and understanding like spoken conversation, you know, I’m not. If I was around it more or something.

But, uh, I don’t use it or lose it with languages. Yeah, it’s actually kind of funny.

So it’s like uh yeah it’s going to be I guess it’s going to be a long post.

It is Monday.

But that’s what I’ve been doing like lately. I’ve just been working on music and I haven’t felt like posting because a lot of it’s just the same crap. I’ve been talking about, you know, All year. And really more than all year. Like I was, I’ll go back and read some of my posts on my other blog from like 2021 and I think I read some from 2020 the other day and it’s like shit. Same old crap, you know?

I think I was also keeping my brains kind of still in that state a little bit but I just I got tired of talking about, you know, Brittany and chicks from work and how crazy I am all the time. You know, it’s like I’m not.

It’s actually kind of stupid.

It’s funny though. I mean, I kind of had to take a step back from that. But I did, I have I’ve gotten in like Um I really like the sound of the nylon string guitar. And if I knew what I knew now I’m glad I bought this 1 um but I do kind of wish I would have bought 1 and that was active like had um was acoustic electric I guess? On the other hand, I think the the cheapest acoustic electric that they had Was around 400 bucks. So Oh, You know. It might have been a little cheaper, but I like the 1 I got I just need to get a pickup for it. Because it wasn’t even $200, it was the cheapest 1 there.

I also need to fix my daughter’s guitar.

Shit. I don’t know. I don’t know what else to say like that was it. I’m just kind of

I woke up about 11:00 did the rest of my chores and

Uh, I got a pretty good night sleep. I woke up about 2.

A.m. Yeah, this morning and, uh, stayed up till about

Fuck 7, something and fell asleep. Woke up at 11:00 and

I’ve been up since 11:00.

I’m not sad or Anything like that or either?

But uh, I don’t know, maybe everything will kind of pick up with um You know, doing music with Peter and stuff and we can find a drummer at some point. That would be awesome. If not, you know, but I’m sure we would.

We will, at some point, I know, like, a couple of people around here, just have to get out and

Do stuff, but I guess that’s going to be

A goal uh is to play another open mic night before the end of the year.

Like I did in 2023 and then I played a bunch of Open Mic nights after that. Haha

So,

I just got to keep my stuff practiced up. You know. Hey, what else can I say? I don’t know. That’s my First post in about 2 weeks. Yay.
